How to add rainbow effects to your pictures for Instagram

On Instagram I often post pictures with rainbow light filters over the top to match my "rainbow aesthetic".
Its pretty easy to do and I think that it makes pictures more fun and colourful on your feed!

The App that I use is PicsArt as it also has several other good photo editing features on it. I only have the free version and which is fine for what I need but the ads are quite annoying. Image result for pics art

After adjusting the saturation and brightness of my photos I go to the brush tool and select the rainbow brush. I then adjust the transparency and the size of the brush and draw a line wherever I want the rainbow. You can then erase any parts you don't want the rainbow to cover with the erase tool and then save the pics and its all done!

Here are some of my pics :)

Cute Rainbow Home Decor for ugly student houses

Next year I will be moving out of student accommodation into a student house. Student houses are typically plain and sometimes dull and so I wanted to find some cool decor to brighten up the place!

Typo Light Curtain £25

This light curtain is so funky and I think would look so cool in either my bedroom or in the living room. It will definitely bring some colour to the room but also make it nice and cosy. (probably be a good insta background too lol)

Lava Lamps
The Lava Lamp Recipe — Dishmaps

I love lava lamps and have wanted one for ages. They are really calming and soothing to watch and the colours are so pretty.

Rainbow Rug £27.93

Student houses often have the same ugly, dark blue carpet (to hide stains lol) and so a fun rug will bring some more light to the lounge. I think that these colour rugs are so cool and this one from Amazon is made from recycled cotton.

Rainbow Teapot £10

Windhorse Rainbow Teapot | Large Rainbow Teapot | Ceramic Rainbow teapot 4 cup
I love this teapot and I love tea so I needed it! Even if I don't use it that much it will definitely bring some colour to the kitchen.

Rainbow Shower Curtain £43.92

I absolutely love this shower curtain (even if it is expensive). Student house bathrooms are generally a bit grim and dated and this will at least hide some of that haha! This will bring so much light to the often tiny bathrooms.

Lirika Matoshi

Here are some really pretty rainbow pieces from designer Lirika Matoshi. She is a New York based designer who sells her pieces online and the occasional pop-up shop. Starting on Etsy she now has her own brand and a much wider range of products than the initial chokers she was selling. Retailers such as Free People and Nordstrom now also sell her pieces. Lirika had no actual fashion education but leant from sister who is also a fashion designer. They are pretty unique garments often sheer and delicate with embellishments. I first found her on Instagram after some of her tulle embellished socks went viral. She has created some really beautiful designs and I am absolutely in love with her collections!

Dream Come True DressDreams Come True Dress $350

This absolutely stunning dress is made from layers of rainbow pastel and brightly coloured tulle. I think that the different layers of colours and big bow ties are really delicate and whimsical. The plunging neckline both front and back however, make the dress more modern and grown-up creating a juxtaposition.

Pastel Organza Mini Dress
Pastel Organza Mini Dress $390

This organza mini dress is an almost 1950s/60s style mini swing dress. The dress is embellished with delicate pastel petals in pink, blue and purple. These delicate hues blend together is a seamless sea skirt of organza. The halter neck top gently flows down into a "a twirl-worthy skirt"

Wild Heart Tulle Socks
Wild Heart Tulle Socks $54
These sheer, tulle, embellished socks are in a delicate fabric contrasted with the heart stones. Lirika Matoshi's socks are what drew me to her Instagram in the first place and although slightly more expensive than your average white trainer socks are really beautiful.

Ripped Floral Tights
Ripped Floral Tights $329

Although absolutely way more expensive than I'd ever consider, the delicate details on these fishnets are so intricate you can't help but be drawn to them. The clusters of beading around the rips are a fun take on the trend of ripped jeans and personally I think much more interesting! They definitely are a statement piece that would jazz up any outfit.
Crystal Floral Barrette
Crystal Floral Barrettes $60

Recently, barrettes have made a clear come back and are now a staple accessory for many fashion bloggers. Lirika Matoshi as always has her own quirky take on this trend with these stunning, crystal floral designs. The large crystal flowers completely fit with her whole delicate and whimsical aesthetic yet are still an absolute statement piece.

BRIGHT PALETTES THAT ARE NOT THE JAMES CHARLES X MORPHE

After a recent SISTER SCANDAL and Morphe's potential drop of James Charles, no-one knows the fate of the James Charles X Morphe palette. So I have been looking for some good alternatives to those who do not want support James/Never managed to get hold of one.Morphe | The James Charles Artistry Palette | Cult Beauty
Tammi X Revolution - Tropical Carnival Shadow Palette £10 - 4.8/5 Star Reviews
Revolution x Tammi Tropical Carnival Palette - Click to view a larger imageThis palette is an 18 shade palette containing  mixture of both matte and glitter/shimmer shades with some comparable to the James Charles palette. Its super affordable but is currently out of stock on the Revolution website (I managed to find some in store though so worth a look). The only thing this palette is really missing is some transition shades but I'm sure most people have a neutral palette already with some transition shades. The shimmer shades make up for that though as I definitely  prefer these shimmers that those in the James Charles palette.

Its also vegan and cruelty free!

EYN Bright Matte 42 Colour Palette £23 - Average rating of 5 *

BEAUTY BAY EYN Bright Matte 42 Colour Palette This eyeshadow palette from the Beauty Bay range of palettes has a well-rounded selection of colours and eyeshadow finishes. As well as the brighter colours it has some neutrals and a couple of transition colours making it a good palette to complete a range of looks. There are some smaller variations of this palette on the website as well. However, not the most ideal palette for travelling it does have amazing reviews on the Beauty Bay website and I think I might have to get it!

Vegan and PETA approved cruelty free!

Anastasia Riviera Palette - £43
Riviera PaletteSlightly more expensive option and with only 14 shades considerably smaller. However, Anastasia is famous for its eyeshadow palettes and their blend-ability and this can be one of the hardest parts of a bright eye-look. As this palette is smaller it is more travel friendly and has some neutral tones. In addition the palette has some transition shades as well to help create a well-rounded look.

Cruelty Free but not vegan

BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil Rio Edition 35 Colour Eyeshadow Palette -currently reduced to £14 - Average 5* Reviews

BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil Rio Edition 35 Color Eyeshadow PaletteThis palette has a lovely rainbow selection of colours and is extremely affordable! However, due to the reduction in price i'm not sure how much longer it is going to be around. This palette contains 35 brightly pigmented shadows and the packaging is kind of fun! Its slim and could be good for travel but again not really any transition shades.

Vegan and Cruelty free!
